The Old Railway Line Garden Centre is celebrating a record fundraising result after its 2026 Spooky Halloween Walk raised £1,316 for The Bracken Trust.
A favourite autumn event with a community purpose
Open throughout October and until 1 November, the family-friendly walk brought visitors plenty of spooky surprises, eerie decorations and seasonal fun, while raising money for The Old Railway Line Garden Centre’s 2026 Charity of the Year.
Voluntary donations from the walk will support The Bracken Trust, which provides practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer, as well as their families and carers.

Matthew Lewis, Retail and Events Manager at The Old Railway Line Garden Centre, said the team was delighted with the result:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have raised £1,316 from this year’s Spooky Halloween Walk. This is the most we’ve ever raised through the event, which is a fantastic achievement. It’s wonderful to see so many families enjoying the walkway and giving generously to support our Charity of the Year. A huge thank you to everyone who visited, donated and helped make it such a success.”
Each year, part of the garden centre’s plant area is transformed into the walk, creating a short, atmospheric trail for visitors of different ages. It has become a firm favourite in the garden centre’s autumn events calendar, combining a family day out with support for a worthwhile local cause.
