Old Railway Line Garden Centre is a family-run garden, shopping and food destination at Three Cocks, between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye. Established in 1990 on the former Brecon to Hereford railway line, it combines plants and expert advice with Welsh produce, gifts and several places to eat.
Gardeners can browse plants, tools, pots, compost, outdoor furniture and seasonal displays, supported by knowledgeable staff. The indoor departments include gifts, homeware, clothing, pet care and aquatics, while the Farm Shop brings together food and drink from more than 60 Welsh and local suppliers. Selected products, hampers and vouchers can also be ordered online.
The Railway Restaurant serves freshly prepared breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas, cakes and regular roast dinners, with children's, vegetarian and gluten-free choices. The dog-friendly Tea Room has its own breakfast, lunch and afternoon-tea menu, while Railway Express provides drinks, light bites and takeaway options near the main entrance.
The garden centre, Restaurant and Tea Room provide wheelchair access, and Wi-Fi is available in the dining areas. Well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome in most areas and in the Tea Room, but not in the Railway Restaurant or carpeted areas; assistance dogs are welcome throughout. Visitors with particular dietary or access requirements should check the current information or contact the team before travelling.
