For nine days this summer, the artists of the Tywi Valley will do something rather special – they'll invite visitors into the places where creativity happens.
From Saturday 25 July to Sunday 2 August, the Llandeilo Arts Trail returns, offering a rare opportunity to step inside the working studios of painters, ceramicists, textile artists, jewellers, printmakers and sculptors, meeting the people behind the work while exploring one of the most beautiful corners of South Wales.
Now in its latest edition, the trail continues to build on its reputation as one of the region's most enjoyable creative events, encouraging visitors to slow down, explore the countryside and experience the Tywi Valley in a way that's simply not possible from a gallery wall.
Unlike a traditional exhibition, the Llandeilo Arts Trail takes visitors directly to the artists themselves.
Each studio offers something different. Some artists will be demonstrating their techniques, others will be sharing the inspiration behind their work, while many will have original pieces available to purchase directly. It's an opportunity to ask questions, discover new skills and gain a genuine insight into the creative process.
Whether you're an enthusiastic collector, a practising artist or simply someone who enjoys discovering new places, the trail offers an experience that's as much about the journey as the destination.
Events such as the Llandeilo Arts Trail are an important part of the visitor economy, encouraging people to spend time exploring market towns, villages and rural communities while supporting independent artists, cafés, shops, accommodation providers and local hospitality businesses.
With studios spread across Llandeilo and the surrounding Tywi Valley, visitors naturally discover hidden corners of the region, enjoying scenic drives, quiet country lanes and welcoming communities along the way.
It's the perfect opportunity to combine creativity with a leisurely day out—or better still, make a weekend of it.
Brecon Beacons Tourism is delighted to see events like the Llandeilo Arts Trail continuing to flourish.
Creative experiences are becoming an increasingly important reason for people to visit Wales, complementing the area's landscapes, heritage and food and drink offer while providing authentic opportunities to meet local makers and discover the stories behind their work.
As more visitors look for meaningful experiences rather than simply places to visit, events like this help showcase the character, creativity and warm welcome that make this part of Wales so distinctive.
