Spring Evenings Return to Penpont: Feast, Folk, Fire & Super Saturday

By j.bell on 28/02/2026

As the light begins to stretch into the evenings and the first warmth returns to the Usk valley, Penpont is opening its courtyard gates for a run of spring gatherings that bring together food, music and community in one of the most atmospheric settings in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons).

From rugby and wood-fired pizza to folk music beneath canvas and the return of the ever-popular pub quiz, there is something for everyone this March, April and May.

Saturday 14 March – Super Saturday

The final day of the Six Nations will be streamed live from the pub, making Penpont the perfect setting to soak up the atmosphere.

Captain Brown’s Pizza will be serving throughout the afternoon and into the evening, and the sauna will be running all day for those wanting to warm up between matches.

Open 2pm–10pm.

Expect sport, steam, pizza and a lively courtyard buzz.

Saturday 11 April – Feast & Folk

Spring settles in fully for an evening of live music and great food.

Local folk troubadours Hewnwood will serenade the Stables Courtyard, while Rotishack serves up fragrant curries to fuel the evening. The sauna will be fired up, offering that now-familiar Penpont combination of heat, fresh air and relaxed conversation.

Open 3pm–11pm.

An easy-going spring gathering with music echoing across the gardens.

Friday 8 May – Pub Quiz Returns

The quiz night is back. Gather your team, sharpen your wits and settle in for a sociable evening in the courtyard.

Origin Pizza will be serving throughout the night, and the atmosphere promises to be lively but friendly — the perfect way to start a May weekend.

Open 5pm–11pm.

Sauna Sessions

The sauna will be available across these events and can be booked in advance.

There is something quietly special about steam rising as dusk falls over the river and gardens — a simple pleasure that has quickly become part of the Penpont experience.

Spring is arriving. The courtyard is ready.
