Nestled in the rolling landscape of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Sobremesa has been quietly making a name for itself with its farmhouse beers and natural ciders. For those who love flavour with a sense of place, this small producer captures the character of our orchards and hillsides in every bottle.
Sobremesa takes inspiration from the Spanish word for “over the table” – that unhurried time after eating when conversations and connections flow. It’s a fitting name, as their drinks are designed to be shared slowly and savoured. Using locally grown fruit and carefully sourced ingredients, their ciders and beers bring together traditional methods with a fresh, modern approach.
This September you’ll be able to discover Sobremesa alongside a host of other producers at the Hay Cider Festival 2025, which takes place on Sunday 7 September at the Buttermarket in Hay-on-Wye (10:00–18:00, free entry). The festival’s theme, “Pip to Pint”, will bring together tastings, talks, apple pressing, demonstrations and orchard suppliers – a true celebration of local cider and perry.
