For riders who dream of exploring Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) on horseback, the wait is over — TransWales Trails has released its 2026 trail dates, promising another year of unforgettable equestrian adventures across Wales.
Based near Talgarth, this family-run business has been guiding riders through the heart of the National Park for more than two decades. Each ride offers the chance to experience open landscapes, mountain passes and hidden valleys — with every detail taken care of, from accommodation and meals to luggage transfers along the route.
What’s New for 2026
Next year’s programme includes an exciting mix of short breaks, weekend rides, and extended trail holidays, including two new itineraries — the Mid Wales Mountain Trail and the Brecon Beacons National Park Trail. Both offer five days of spectacular riding and six nights of accommodation, combining challenging routes with time to unwind in local inns.
The ever-popular Trans-Wales Trail (TWT) — the company’s flagship ride across the country — returns for 2026, alongside shorter two- and three-day options such as the Hay Loop, Beacons Triangle, and Black Mountains Explorer.
To make things even better for early bookers, TransWales Trails is offering its loyal riders the chance to secure the TWT at this year’s price (£2,295) if deposits are paid before the end of November 2025.
What to Expect
All rides are fully inclusive (except drinks) and designed for confident, competent riders capable of cantering over varied terrain. With a maximum rider weight of 13 stone and group sizes of 6–8 riders, each trail offers a personal, small-group experience led by expert guides and forward-going horses.
Guests can expect a warm welcome, spectacular scenery, great food, and plenty of post-ride “tea and cake” moments — a hallmark of TransWales hospitality.
How to Book
Trail dates for March through October 2026 include a wide choice of options, from weekend rides to full cross-Wales expeditions. Prices start at £650 for short midweek breaks, rising to £2,595 for the full Trans-Wales Trail.
Bookings are now open and being confirmed in the order they’re received. Deposits secure each place and lock in current prices before any seasonal increase.
