Visitors planning a walk in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park this weekend are being advised to plan ahead, as very high visitor numbers are expected around Pen y Fan.
The Pont ar Daf car park is likely to be full throughout the weekend (9–10 May) due to a major walking challenge taking place in the area.
The 10yFan challenge will see around 300 walkers aiming to complete 10 ascents of Pen y Fan within 24 hours, making it one of the busiest weekends of the year on the central Beacons.
With participants, support teams and general visitors all accessing the same area, parking capacity will be extremely limited.
