Monsters of the Mine returns to Zip World Tower this autumn

Zip World Tower is getting ready for a season of monsters, darkness and serious scares as Monsters of the Mine returns to Aberdare this autumn.

Taking place from 9 October to 1 November 2026, this immersive Halloween experience promises an evening of frightening encounters, unexpected jumpscares and live interaction with a horde of terrifying characters.

Set at the former Tower Colliery, the event combines the atmosphere of a working coal-mining site with some of Zip World’s most adventurous night-time experiences. Choose the pass that suits you, whether you want to join in with the action or simply enjoy the spectacle.

Night pass options include:

  • Phoenix Night Pass – fly the huge seated zip line in the dark;
  • Terror Coaster Night Pass – take on the two-seater coaster as it weaves along the old coal mine;
  • Terror Coaster and Fear Flyer Night Pass – combine the coaster with the mini zip line;
  • Terror Coaster and Cursed Climber Night Pass – take on the coaster and the giant adventure high-ropes course; or
  • Spectator Pass – enter the event and soak up the spooky atmosphere without taking part in the rides.

All passes include interaction with the monsters throughout the evening and free parking. Food and drink will also be available at Cegin Glo Bar & Bistro, so you can make a full evening of it.

Bring your bravest friends and family members aged nine and over; evening sessions run from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.

Monsters of the Mine takes place at Zip World Tower, Treherbert Road, Aberdare, CF44 9UF. Booking ahead is recommended, as spaces are expected to fill quickly.
