If you missed out on the popular night walks during Wales Dark Sky Week, there’s another chance to step into the darkness and experience the National Park after sunset.
Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority has released two additional guided night walks this March, giving visitors another opportunity to explore the landscape under some of the darkest skies in Wales.
The Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park is internationally recognised as a Dark Sky Reserve, making it one of the best places in the UK to experience star-filled skies away from city lights.
These guided evening walks offer a completely different perspective on the landscape. Woodland paths, open hills and quiet country parks take on a new atmosphere once the sun disappears, with guides helping visitors tune into the sights and sounds of the night.
Night Hike and Soup – Mynydd Illtyd
5 March | 6:00pm
A guided night walk across the open landscape of Mynydd Illtyd, finishing with a warming bowl of soup — the perfect way to end an evening under the stars.
Night Walk – Craig-y-nos Country Park
6 March | 6:00pm
Explore the woodland and historic grounds of Craig-y-nos Country Park after dark, where the quieter side of the landscape reveals itself beneath the night sky.
Night walks like these are a wonderful way to reconnect with nature and discover a different side of Bannau Brycheiniog. With fewer distractions and darker skies overhead, visitors often find the experience surprisingly peaceful and memorable.
Spaces are limited and advance booking is recommended.
