Independent Bookshop Week returns this June and Book-ish is celebrating in style with a full week of events, conversations, creativity and community in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.

Running from 13–20 June, the programme includes everything from author talks and yoga sessions to tea tasting, creative writing workshops and the launch of a new LGBTQ+ book club. Whether you are a lifelong reader, curious visitor or simply looking for something a little different to enjoy in Crickhowell, there is plenty to discover throughout the week.

Independent bookshops continue to play an important role in towns and communities across Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), creating welcoming spaces for conversation, culture and connection. Book-ish has become well known for its lively events programme and thoughtful approach to bringing people together through books and ideas.

A Week of Books, Conversation and Community

The celebrations begin on Monday 15 June with a Tea Talk and Tasting hosted by James from Tea From The Manor, followed later that evening by the launch of a new LGBTQ+ Book Club, where attendees will discover the first book choice and meet fellow readers.

Tuesday offers an early morning Yoga in the Bookshop session before author and adventurer Paul Harris, also known as The Warrior Walker, leads a walk up Table Mountain followed by an evening talk about his book and experiences.

Midweek brings Writing Wednesday, a relaxed creative session led by bookseller and writer Hannah, while Thursday evening welcomes author Kim Willis for No Fair Maidens, an exploration of forgotten goddesses and matriarchs of Britain as part of the Crickhowell Coven series.

On Friday, bestselling author Rachel Joyce visits Book-ish to discuss The Homemade God, before the week rounds off with a Terry Green book signing in nearby Abergavenny and a Summer Solstice Vision Boarding session on Sunday.
