Folk and Feast at Penpont

By j.bell on 26/09/2025

This October, the historic setting of Penpont in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park will host a very special evening celebrating the harvest season. On Saturday 4 October 2025, Penpont opens its doors for a Folk & Feast, blending food, music and community in a way that captures the essence of autumn in the Park.

The event begins with a Harvest Feast by Cat Soup Kitchen, showcasing produce from the Penpont walled garden alongside beef from the estate’s own Longhorn cattle. True to Cat Soup Kitchen’s style, the menu will be seasonal, sustainable and packed with flavour — a feast served from 3pm until it sells out.

As dusk falls, the air will fill with music. Nick Hart, an award-winning singer and multi-instrumentalist, will share his acclaimed interpretations of English folk song, weaving stories through performance. Joining him from Canada, Kester Reid brings a distinctive voice in contemporary folk, ensuring an evening of music that bridges tradition and innovation.

For those looking to unwind, Penpont’s sauna will also be open in the afternoon from 2–5pm, offering long sessions at £10 per person. With the warmth of the fire, the depth of the music and the abundance of the feast, this is an event that celebrates everything autumn has to offer.

Date: Saturday 4 October 2025
Venue: Penpont, near Brecon
Time: From 3pm – late
Tickets: Sauna sessions £10 – advance booking recommended

Plan ahead, book your sauna session, and make sure you don’t miss an evening that promises to be as golden as the season itself.
