Cherry Vann's life has been one of many firsts. After a long, exceptional and storied career

in the Church of England, the trained concert pianist and violinist - an Associate of the

Royal College of Music who also served as conductor of Bolton Chamber Orchestra for 20

years - was elected Bishop of Monmouth in 2020. In July 2025, in a historic moment that

has both delighted and divided the Church, Cherry was elected Archbishop of Wales.
