Explore the art, care and creativity of textile repair in this practical mending workshop with artist Celia Pym at The Chapel.
Participants will learn woven and “knitted” darning techniques, hear about artists working with repair and have the opportunity to mend their own sweaters, socks and wool accessories. Bring any damaged knitted or woollen items you would like to discuss; darning materials are provided.
No previous darning, knitting or needlework experience is needed. Celia has explored mending since 2007 and is an Associate Lecturer in Textiles at the Royal College of Art.
