Join a guided 9km (5.5-mile) circular walk from Dan-yr-Ogof Showcaves to Waun Fignen-felen and explore how peatland condition connects with fire, flooding and wider environmental risk.
Waun Fignen-felen is an upland peat bog above an extensive cave system in Fforest Fawr UNESCO Global Geopark. During the walk, discover how healthy peat stores carbon and water, and why damaged or dry peat is more vulnerable to erosion and fire.
The event marks the United Nations International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, held annually on 13 October.
