Crickhowell Open Studios Returns This May with 26 Venues to Explore

Excitement is building in Crickhowell as preparations gather pace for the return of Crickhowell Open Studios, taking place across the Spring Bank Holiday weekend (23–25 May 2026).

With 26 venues opening their doors and free entry throughout, the event offers a unique opportunity to step inside studios, meet artists, and experience the creative energy that runs through this thriving town on the edge of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.

A Town Transformed by Creativity

Over the course of the weekend, Crickhowell becomes a walkable gallery, with artists, makers and venues working together to create a vibrant, open-door experience.

From established names to emerging talent, visitors can expect a wide range of work including:

  • Painting and illustration
  • Contemporary and traditional art
  • Mixed media and experimental work
  • Local craftsmanship and design

A Taster of What to Expect

This year’s programme highlights the depth and variety of the local creative scene.

Visitors can discover:

  • Selected works featured in the Open Art exhibition at Oriel Cric Gallery, including a striking piece by Glenn Carney
  • A diverse showcase at Clarence Hall in collaboration with Torfaen Arts
  • Studio openings from artists such as Nadia Epping, offering a chance to see work in its creative setting
  • Exhibitions hosted in local venues including Antur Brew Co and Latté-da Crickhowell, bringing art into the heart of the town’s social spaces
