This week marks a very special milestone for one of our vibrant local businesses. The Coach and Horses in Llangynidr celebrates its first anniversary on 1 May, after a busy year of live music, good food and warm welcomes. In just twelve months, the team has created a real hub for locals and visitors alike, blending canal-side charm with a lively programme of events that has helped reinvigorate the village community.
Since opening its doors under new stewardship in May 2024, the Coach and Horses has built a reputation for friendly service, great food and a commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Regular events including Monday pensioners’ lunches, Friday Pizza and Pint nights and Sunday quiz evenings have quickly become favourites in the local calendar.
Special celebrations for their first birthday take place on Saturday 3 May, when guests are invited to join the party and raise a glass to mark the occasion.

The Coach and Horses has embraced live music as a core part of its offering, giving visitors even more reason to linger by the canal and enjoy the sunshine. Upcoming performances include Jim Ramsey (10 May), The Tena Ladies (24 May), The Red Kits (7 June) and The New By Passers (23 August), with more dates to be announced soon.
Food service times have also been extended to meet growing demand, with a wide menu of favourites on offer from Monday to Sunday.
Congratulations to Meghan, Jak, Cwtch and the team for an incredible first year.
The Coach and Horses has quickly become a shining example of how local businesses can create places that both celebrate community spirit and offer a fantastic visitor experience.
