The Angel Hotel is a four-star hotel and dining destination in the centre of Abergavenny. Part of the House of Caradog collection, it combines individually styled rooms and suites with restaurants, afternoon tea and flexible spaces for weddings, private dining and business meetings.
Guests can choose rooms and suites in the main hotel or characterful rooms in The Mews, with direct online booking and the town's independent shops, market and castle paths within a short walk. Cots and children's extra beds can be arranged in suitable rooms. Dogs are not accepted in guestrooms, although they are welcome in the Foxhunter Bar and Courtyard.
Dining choices include the two-AA-Rosette Oak Room, relaxed all-day food and drinks in the Foxhunter Bar, afternoon tea in the Wedgewood Room from Thursday to Sunday and seasonal outdoor dining in the Courtyard. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily, and private dining can be arranged for groups and occasions.
The Angel hosts wedding receptions and celebrations, with nearby registry offices providing ceremony options and hotel bedrooms available for guests. Event spaces range from the Cellar for up to 14 people and the lift-accessed Brecon Room for up to 45 to the Ballroom for up to 200. The same flexible rooms, central location, food and service support meetings, private dinners and other group events.
There are no ground-floor bedrooms, but a lift serves the first and second floors. The front entrance has two steps and a temporary ramp can be provided on request; the route from the rear car park includes several steps, so dropping guests at the front may be more suitable. Rear parking is limited and first come, first served, with a small number of spaces and electric-vehicle charging spaces available to reserve for a charge. Visitors with access requirements should contact the hotel before booking so the team can discuss the best room and arrival route.
