Porth-y-Parc offers two dog-friendly self-catering cottages on an organically run smallholding below Sugar Loaf, just outside Abergavenny. Fields, National Trust woodland and hill walks begin from the property, while the town remains within easy reach.
The Old Barn is a traditional three-bedroom conversion sleeping six. Original timbers sit alongside Welsh slate, lime, sheep's-wool insulation, an air-source heat pump, a well-equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi and a wood-burning stove. Its Bat Room is reached directly from the courtyard and is described by the owners as wheelchair accessible, with a king-size bed and en-suite wet room; the other bedrooms and family bathroom are reached by a spiral staircase.
Ty Gwyn is a bright three-bedroom cottage for six with south-facing valley views, underfloor heating from an air-source heat pump, Wi-Fi, a wood-burning stove and an enclosed garden. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor and share a wet room, while the third bedroom and its bathroom are upstairs.
Both cottages have parking and accept dogs by prior arrangement. Visitors can view availability calendars online, then book by contacting the owners by phone, email or the enquiry form. Anyone with individual access requirements should discuss the most suitable cottage and room layout before confirming a stay.
