About:
Porth‑y‑Parc is a working organic smallholding on the eastern edge of Bannau Brycheiniog, right on a footpath leading to Sugar Loaf. It features two luxury self‑catering cottages—The Old Barn and Ty Gwyn—nestled among fields and National Trust woodland, with spectacular walks and wild places right from the door

What they offer:

  • The Old Barn:

    • Traditional Welsh‑style barn conversion with three bedrooms (2 double, 1 twin) and sleeping up to 6

    • Eco‑materials: local slate, oak, lime plaster, underfloor heating powered by an air‑source heat pump; retains bat and barn‑owl access

    • Open‑plan kitchen/dining/living area with wood‑burner, utility room, spiral staircase to bedrooms, family bath and ensuite “Bat Room” wheelchair‑friendly wet‑room

    • Outside: patios north & south, BBQ, games barn with table tennis/football; welcomed to enjoy home‑grown cake, eggs, lamb

  • Ty Gwyn:

    • Built in 1970, modern three‑bedroom cottage sleeps 6, with underfloor‑heated kitchen, wood‑burner, and south‑facing glazed windows

    • Two bedrooms downstairs, sharing wet‑room; upstairs double bedroom with luxury bathroom and roll‑top bath; enclosed south‑facing garden and BBQ

  • Shared features:

    • Both cottages include underfloor heating, Wi‑Fi, parking, patios/gardens, eco‑toiletries, dog‑friendly (by arrangement)

Why we love it:
Porth‑y‑Parc combines eco-conscious design with rural luxury and a genuine connection to nature. Guests arrive to home‑baked goodies, starlit skies, and wildlife‑rich farmland—with stunning foothill walks right outside the door
