Pentre Riding Stables and Accommodation is a family-run, British Horse Society-approved riding centre at Craig-y-nos in the Upper Swansea Valley. Set opposite Craig-y-nos Castle, it combines guided riding in the surrounding hills with flexible accommodation beside the working farm.
Guided treks range from introductory one-hour rides to longer and full-day outings. Lessons are also available, with experienced staff matching horses and routes to each rider’s ability. Complete beginners, experienced riders, families and groups are welcome; guided trekking groups can accommodate up to ten riders.
Purpose-built bed-and-breakfast and self-catering accommodation adjoins the farmhouse. The published room layout includes three family rooms sleeping up to four people and one double room sleeping up to two. Group bookings are welcomed, including visitors attending weddings at nearby Craig-y-nos Castle, and the business can discuss whole-property arrangements directly.
A ground-floor room sleeps up to four and has level access along a flat paved path, a wheelchair-accessible layout and an equipped wet room. Reserved parking is available immediately beside the accommodation. Upper-floor rooms are reached by stairs, and riding can be arranged for some guests with independent mobility using quiet horses in the outdoor schools. Pentre is a working farm. Pets, assistance dogs and special diets can be accommodated in particular circumstances or by arrangement, so confirm the current details directly. Mobile reception can be limited while the team is out riding; WhatsApp or email is often the easiest first contact.
