Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer is an activity and accommodation centre at Pontsticill, near Merthyr Tydfil, overlooking Pontsticill Reservoir on the southern side of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
Bookable activities include abseiling, archery, bushcraft, canoeing, caving, gorge adventures, kayaking, hill and mountain walking, stand-up paddleboarding and rock climbing. Family sessions, school residentials, team-building programmes and tailored group packages run at selected times, with age, ability and participation requirements varying by activity.
Visitors with their own suitable kayak, canoe or paddleboard can also book current self-launch access to Pontsticill Reservoir. They should check the latest launch conditions, equipment requirements and safety information directly with Dolygaer before travelling.
Stay in reservoir-view glamping pods, tent or streamside camping, electric campervan pitches, Dolygaer Cottage, group lodge accommodation or the flexible Chalet. The Lodge sleeps up to 44 and the whole Chalet up to 26, while smaller rooms and self-contained arrangements suit families and smaller groups.
Dogs are welcome in selected accommodation but are not accepted in the reservoir-view glamping pods. Two Chalet rooms have large accessible wet rooms; visitors with particular access requirements should confirm the full arrival, room, shared-facility and activity arrangements before booking.
