Camping, glamping and fishing in rural Carmarthenshire

Llandyfan Camping is an off-grid campsite and fishing lake near the village of Llandyfan, west of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.

Re-established by Andy and Jo in 2024, the site welcomes tents, trailer tents, rooftop tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes. Camping pods and a furnished cabin provide additional options for visitors who prefer to arrive without a tent.

A relaxed base for camping and glamping

The campsite welcomes couples, families, solo travellers, outdoor groups and Duke of Edinburgh groups. Facilities include hot showers, toilets, hot-water washing-up provision and recycling points.

Electricity is limited because the site operates off grid. Hook-up is available on selected pitches and should be booked in advance, particularly during busy periods. Electric vehicles must not be charged from the campsite hook-ups.

The camping pods sleep two people, while the cabin sleeps up to four and includes a double bed, bunk beds, a gas hob, cold-water sink, fridge and charging sockets. Guests staying in the pods or cabin need to bring their own bedding and other camping equipment.

Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads and cannot be left unattended. Raised barbecues and the campsite’s own hireable firepits may be used in accordance with its fire-safety rules.

Fishing among the woodland

The one-acre fishing lake sits within ten acres of natural woodland and has been stocked with species including common and mirror carp, tench, perch, roach and rudd.

Fishing is available to campsite guests and day visitors, with day tickets, evening tickets and annual memberships offered. Visitors should telephone before travelling because the lake may occasionally be closed. Anglers must hold a valid rod licence and follow the lake’s equipment and fish-care rules. Read the current fishing lake information before travelling.

Parking is available near the entrance, followed by a short walk with some steps to the lake. Visitors who need more detailed access information should contact the campsite before arrival.
