Adults-only countryside stays at Craswall, with private bathing, dark skies and walks into the Black Mountains from the door.

Switch off at the foot of the Black Hill

Kaya at Blackhill Farm is a small adults-only retreat between the Black Mountains and the Wye Valley. Its current bookable stays include Sky House and Pumla, two hand-built yurt cabins created for couples and solo travellers who want quiet, comfort and a proper pause from the noise of everyday life.

Each current yurt sleeps two adults and has a king-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen, its own toilet and washing facilities, a wood-burning stove and a private deck. Pumla has a generous outdoor bath, while Sky House pairs an indoor roll-top bath with an outdoor roll-in shower.

The stays are pet-free, with parking on site. Bike storage may be available by arrangement; ask when booking if you plan to arrive with bikes. Kaya is developing further accommodation, so use the official site to see which spaces are currently available rather than relying on a fixed unit count.

Walk out, look up and breathe

You can set out on foot towards the Cat’s Back, Offa’s Dyke Path and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), then return to the warmth of your cabin. On clear nights, the dark rural setting makes it easy to slow down and spend time under the stars.

Choose the stay that works for you

The approach to the current yurts includes inclined earth, stone and grass before a firm accessible path. Pumla is around 100 metres from the parking area and Sky House around 140 metres. Both have short entrance ramps, although there are doorway lips and the routes are not completely level.

Sky House provides more room to manoeuvre and has an outdoor roll-in shower with a seat and grab rails. Pumla sits lower on the slope, but its shower is not suitable for wheelchair access. Access needs are personal, so read Kaya’s detailed current access information and speak to the owners before booking if any part of the journey matters to your stay.

Check the official Kaya at Blackhill Farm website for current availability, the differences between its stays and online booking.
