Ancient woodland, a cosy off-grid cabin, a wood-fired hot tub and the surrounding hill farm create a secluded stay beneath the Black Mountain.
Henbont Holidays offers a secluded off-grid woodland stay at Llanddeusant, near Llandovery, in the foothills of the Black Mountain. Coed yr Henbont Cabin is formed from two connected timber cabins on a working family hill farm: one contains the kitchen and lounge, while the other contains the bedrooms and bathroom.
The sleeping cabin has a double bedroom and a second room with a king-size trundle that can be used as a single, twin beds or a king. A small designated space beside the cabin can take a guest's own tent for up to two additional people when agreed in advance.
The private woodland setting includes an outdoor snug, table, barbecue, fire pit and wood-fired hot tub. A separate riverside field is reserved for guests, while the Black Mountain, local tracks, Llandovery and Myddfai provide more options nearby.
The cabins use solar power and mains water. There are USB chargers but no standard electrical sockets and no Wi-Fi; most major mobile networks can normally be received. The lounge has a wood-burning stove, and the kitchen uses gas appliances. Parking is beside the cabin, reached along an unmade farm track.
No pets are permitted because ponies, sheep and cattle graze the surrounding working land. Visitors should read the current essential information for access, transport, hot-tub safety, firewood and what to bring before booking.
