Gwernyfed Walled Garden and Café is a restored Victorian garden, glasshouse café and wedding venue at Three Cocks, between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye. Over more than 15 years, a former school football pitch and derelict glasshouse have been transformed into productive growing beds, flowers and a relaxed place to eat and spend time.
The café serves seasonal light lunches using vegetables from the garden alongside freshly made cakes, loose-leaf tea and coffee. Visitors can sit in the glasshouse or among the garden tables, see what is growing and enjoy a slower stop while exploring the eastern side of Bannau Brycheiniog.
The glasshouse and walled garden are also offered for weddings, with arrangements planned directly with the Gwernyfed team. Couples should enquire about current dates, ceremony and celebration options, guest arrangements and the parts of the garden included.
