Grange Trekking Centre is a long-established, family-run riding centre at Capel-y-ffin in the Black Mountains. Its sure-footed Welsh cobs carry complete beginners and experienced riders onto mountain routes with wide views across Bannau Brycheiniog, with each ride adapted to the rider’s confidence and ability.
Hourly, half-day and full-day rides are available, with basic instruction before setting out and opportunities to groom and tack up the horse. Families, social groups and organised youth groups can discuss suitable experiences directly with the centre.
Riding can be combined with the seasonal farm guest house, where the bedrooms are en-suite and country-style meals can be arranged. Riverside camping and two simple glamping options—the Shepherds Hut and Glamping Pod—provide additional ways to stay, with the camping and glamping offer available across the year.
