About:
The Brecon Beacons Park Society is a voluntary organisation committed to the protection, enhancement, and sustainable enjoyment of the countryside and amenities within Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Since its foundation in 1957, the Society has played a key role in representing public interest in preserving this protected landscape and encouraging responsible access.
What they offer:
Organised guided walks within or around the National Park every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with extras on Wednesdays and for special events
Walks are free to Society members; non-members are welcome to join for a suggested £5 donation (refundable upon joining)
A wide range of walks, from gentle rambles to more strenuous hikes, all led by experienced volunteers
Conservation initiatives in partnership with the National Park Authority and other groups
Educational projects and campaigns advocating for the Park’s long-term future
Why we love them:
The Society is the heartbeat of walking, learning and advocacy in Bannau Brycheiniog. It brings people together to enjoy the landscape while ensuring it's protected for generations to come. Their guided walks, friendly ethos and active conservation work make them a vital part of the Park’s fabric.
