Crickhowell Paragliding offers tandem flights, pilot training and development courses from suitable sites across the Black Mountains, Bannau Brycheiniog and South Wales. Complete beginners can experience free flight with a qualified tandem pilot, while structured courses support people who want to become independent pilots.
A tandem flight normally lasts around 30 minutes, although the whole visit takes longer while the team waits for safe conditions. The current published guidance gives an indicative age range of eight to 80, a maximum tandem passenger weight of 90kg and a maximum height of 195cm; suitability and any medical considerations must be discussed before payment. Gift vouchers are available.
Elementary and Club Pilot training, taster days, development coaching, specialist hike-and-fly courses, equipment advice and servicing are available. Training takes place in small groups and requires enough fitness for a day on the hill.
Flights and training are planned around the weather, normally only a few days ahead, and the meeting site changes.
