Castle views, open countryside and atmospheric spaces for ceremonies bring together the visitor and celebration sides of Carreg Cennen.
Carreg Cennen Castle is a dramatic medieval ruin set high above the River Cennen near Llandeilo, on the western edge of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. The climb rewards visitors with wide views across Carmarthenshire and the National Park.
Visitors can explore the ruins, take a torch into the natural cave beneath the castle and follow two signed circular walks through the surrounding working farm. The farmyard visitor complex includes tea rooms, a gift shop, toilets and free parking; admission is charged only for the castle grounds.
Disabled parking is available in the farmyard and an alternative entrance to the tea rooms can be arranged. The walk from the car park to the castle takes around 10–15 minutes and can be used by pushchairs, but the final ascent is a steep grass bank and there are several steps into the inner ward. The cave and walking routes include steep, muddy or uneven ground, so visitors should check current conditions and discuss access requirements before travelling. Dogs are welcome on leads, with guide dogs only inside the tea rooms and gift shop.
The Wood Shed and Barn provide distinctive settings for civil ceremonies, outdoor vows, receptions and daytime events. Wedding venue hire caters for 40 to 80 guests, while the Barn seats up to 100 for other arrangements. The site also hosts conferences, courses and team days and has experience supporting television, film and publishing crews, making the castle and farm a practical filming location as well as a visitor attraction.
