Award-winning oak-smoked foods, Welsh produce and luxury hampers made and sold near Crickhowell.
Black Mountains Smokery is an award-winning artisan smokehouse and food shop at Crickhowell, on the eastern edge of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.
Established in 1996, the smokery uses traditional curing and natural oak smoking to produce salmon, trout, mackerel, duck, chicken, ham, bacon, charcuterie, cheese and butter. Its smoked foods contain no artificial additives and have earned numerous national food awards.
The business celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2026 and has entered a new chapter under Simon Anderson and Hannah, supported by the established Black Mountains Smokery team. The Black Mountains Smokery story
Alongside its smoked foods, Black Mountains Smokery works with artisan producers, many of them Welsh and local, to create luxury hampers and gourmet food gifts. These can include cheeses, preserves, crackers, chocolates, drinks and carefully selected accompaniments.
Customers can choose from ready-made hampers, smaller gift boxes, Welsh collections, subscriptions, gift vouchers and corporate gifts. Products can be ordered online for chilled delivery on a selected day, with delivery available across most of the UK mainland.
The Smokery Shop displays the full range of smoked produce alongside food and drink from other artisan suppliers. Visitors can call in for picnic ingredients, gifts or something special to take home.
The shop and telephone lines are currently open from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Click and collect is available, and customers seeking a particular product or placing a large order are encouraged to telephone before visiting. Parking is available outside the smokery. Smokery Shop information
