Black Mountains Gliding Club operates experience flights, trial lessons and pilot training from Talgarth Airfield, 970 feet above sea level near Talgarth. Flights offer a distinctive aerial view across the Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
Visitors can book a gliding experience with a qualified pilot, buy a gift voucher or use a first flight as an introduction to further training. The club teaches complete beginners through to experienced pilots, and its trial experiences include temporary membership under the current terms.
Young people can take an experience flight, but suitability depends on age, maturity, size and weight. The club recommends discussing younger flyers in advance, and anyone under 18 needs parent or guardian approval. Published height, weight and fitness guidance should be checked before purchase.
Family, friend and corporate groups of four to twelve can arrange a tailored flying day, with larger-group operating days considered by agreement. Gliding is weather dependent, so visitors should follow the club's instructions and confirm conditions before a long journey.
