Canoeing, mountain biking, caving and high ropes show the breadth of instructed adventures available from Black Mountain Adventure.
Black Mountain Adventure is a family-run outdoor activity centre at Three Cocks, between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye. Established in 1992, it provides instructed land and water adventures for families, individuals, schools, youth groups, businesses and private groups.
The current programme includes climbing and abseiling, caving, gorge walking, high ropes, archery, hill walking, orienteering, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding and raft building. Guided canoe and mountain-bike sessions sit alongside equipment hire, paddlesport coaching and courses.
Activities have different minimum ages, physical requirements and locations. Some begin at the Three Cocks centre, while gorge walking, caving and outdoor rock climbing use separate meeting points. Visitors should read the individual activity page and booking information before travelling.
Family days, birthday activities, school and youth programmes, corporate team days and hen or stag visits can all be arranged. Qualified instructors provide the technical activity delivery, and participants complete the relevant medical and consent information before instructed sessions.
