Known locally as the Mountain Centre, Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Visitor Centre offers information, facilities and far-reaching views from its setting near Libanus, approximately four miles south of Brecon.
The knowledgeable visitor-centre team can provide free advice about walking routes, places to visit and exploring Bannau Brycheiniog safely. Maps, guidebooks and useful outdoor essentials are available from the shop, alongside locally made gifts from the Platform One Craft Co-operative.
Dau Fynydd Café serves all-day breakfasts, lunches, hot drinks and homemade cakes using local suppliers. A dog-friendly area makes it a welcoming place to pause before or after exploring the surrounding countryside.
Visitors can enjoy walks across nearby Mynydd Illtud, views towards Pen y Fan, a children’s play area and opportunities for stargazing within the International Dark Sky Reserve. A free Terrain Rider service also enables visitors with limited mobility to explore a designated route on Mynydd Illtud; advance booking is required.
Facilities include paid parking, six standard-speed EV charging points, toilets, baby changing facilities and an accessible Changing Places facility. The centre is reached from the A470 via Libanus.
Please note: there are no waterfalls at this location.
