Alpaca My Boots runs guided alpaca treks from Blaenrheon, a working hill farm three miles from Brecon. The 90-minute experience combines animal handling, a relaxed countryside walk and wide views across Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
Each visit begins with a handling briefing before guests are matched with an alpaca for the walk across the farm's fields and hills. Families are welcome under the current ticket rules. Children aged three to ten share an alpaca with an accompanying adult at a one-to-one ratio, while older children have age-specific tickets and supervision requirements. Babies and toddlers may attend in a suitable carrier.
Participants need to walk one to two miles over uphill and uneven ground. The standard route is unsuitable for wheelchairs and buggies, and dogs are not permitted on site because they can distress the alpacas. Sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are essential.
