Abercynafon Farm Barn is a Grade II-listed self-catering barn four miles from Talybont-on-Usk, beside the reservoir and the central Bannau Brycheiniog mountains. Sleeping ten across four en-suite bedrooms, it is designed for families and groups looking for space, dark skies and outdoor routes from the door.
The four first-floor bedrooms comprise two flexible family rooms, a twin and a double. Three have en-suite shower rooms and one has an en-suite bathroom with shower. Downstairs, the large kitchen-dining room seats 14, while the lounge has a wood-burning stove and doors to the garden. A utility room, drying room, downstairs WC, private gardens and a trampoline support longer group stays.
Dogs are accepted by prior arrangement under the current farm rules. Wi-Fi, plenty of parking and lockable cycle storage are provided. The owners live in the neighbouring farmhouse, but the barn has its own access and private outdoor space.
Walking and cycling begin from the property, with Talybont Reservoir, Blaen y Glyn waterfalls, the canal and the surrounding mountains close at hand. The secluded valley setting is promoted for stargazing, and books on the night sky are provided. Electricity is generated by the farm's micro-hydroelectric system, with heating from a wood-pellet boiler.
