Aber Glamping offers a peaceful farm stay at Aberhyddnant Organic Farm near Crai, within Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Surrounded by open countryside, the site has far-reaching views towards the mountains and Pen y Fan in the distance.
The geodomes and pods are positioned to give guests their own outdoor space, making the site suitable for couples, families and small groups who want to spend time in nature without bringing conventional camping equipment.
The accommodation includes field and woodland geodomes sleeping between four and six guests, together with cosy pods for up to four. Each unit has a king-size bed, additional sleeping space, a wood-burning stove and Wi-Fi.
Guests also have their own outdoor cooking area, known as a Cegin Bach, with a two-ring gas stove. A fire pit provides somewhere to cook outdoors, toast marshmallows and sit beneath the night sky.
Each glamping unit has a private converted trailer bathroom alongside it, containing a hot shower and eco composting toilet. Flushing toilets are also available near the honesty shop.
Aber Glamping lies within the Bannau Brycheiniog International Dark Sky Reserve. On a clear night, guests can watch the stars from beside their fire pit and may see the Milky Way above the farm.
The rural location also provides a good base for enjoying stargazing in Bannau Brycheiniog, exploring local walking routes or visiting the dramatic landscapes of Waterfall Country.
A farm walk offers a gentler option close to the accommodation, while Pen y Fan and other parts of the National Park can be reached by car.
Stays can be combined with a selection of seasonal farm experiences. Depending on the time of year, these may include sheep or goat walking, animal pampering, lambing experiences and felting workshops using wool from the farm.
An honesty shop stocks useful essentials and produce from the farm. Breakfast and barbecue hampers can also be pre-booked, helping guests settle in without needing to bring everything with them.
The site uses composting toilets, recycling facilities, locally sourced firewood and environmentally considerate cleaning products. An electric vehicle charging point is available for glamping guests, subject to availability.
As this is a working farm, pets cannot be accommodated. Aber Glamping is best suited to guests who want a comfortable outdoor stay shaped by the farm, the surrounding landscape and the changing seasons.
