This week is Wales Tourism Week , a celebration of the people, places and partnerships that make Wales such a special destination for visitors from near and far.

As part of the week’s events, representatives from Brecon Beacons Tourism and Bannau Brcheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park will be heading to Cardiff Bay on Wednesday evening for a special reception at the Senedd. Organised by the Wales Tourism Alliance, this event brings together tourism leaders, destination organisations and elected members to recognise the value and vibrancy of Wales’s visitor economy.

We'll be proudly representing the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park area, alongside other tourism groups we regularly collaborate with. It’s a chance to speak up for our members, connect with national partners, and highlight the unique appeal of our region – from mountain adventures and dark skies to artisan food and thriving independent businesses.

The evening will include speeches from key political and industry figures, including Rebecca Evans MS, Minister for Finance and Local Government, who will address tourism priorities and economic challenges across Wales. Other speakers include representatives from the Wales Tourism Alliance and leading voices in the sector, discussing issues such as sustainable growth, staffing, and destination management.

Julie Bell, Director of Brecon Beacons Tourism, said:
"It’s more important than ever to champion rural tourism and the small businesses that power it. Bannau Brycheiniog has a vital role to play in Wales’s visitor offer – not just as a landscape, but as a community that welcomes people all year round. Events like this help ensure our voice is heard."
