Representatives from Brecon Beacons Tourism recently joined colleagues at Dan-yr-Ogof National Showcaves Centre for Wales for a discussion with Sioned Williams MS and Rebeca Phillips MS, focusing on issues affecting businesses, communities and the visitor economy across Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd.
Hosted by Dan-yr-Ogof, the meeting provided an opportunity to share local perspectives and discuss some of the opportunities and challenges facing the constituency. Conversations explored the important role tourism continues to play in supporting communities, employment and the wider economy within a protected landscape.
The visit brought together representatives from across the visitor economy, creating an opportunity for open discussion and the sharing of experiences from businesses operating throughout the area.
Brecon Beacons Tourism was pleased to contribute to the conversation, helping ensure that the views and experiences of tourism businesses were represented as relationships continue to develop within the new constituency.
Commenting after the visit, Brecon Beacons Tourism Chair Carl Shaw said:
“Tourism remains an important part of the economy across Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd, supporting businesses, jobs and communities throughout the area. Opportunities to share perspectives and maintain open dialogue with elected representatives are always valuable, and we appreciate Sioned Williams MS and Rebeca Phillips MS taking the time to visit and engage with local businesses.”
Brecon Beacons Tourism would like to thank Dan-yr-Ogof for hosting the discussion and Sioned Williams MS and Rebeca Phillips MS for taking the time to visit and listen to perspectives from across the visitor economy.
As an independent membership organisation representing tourism businesses across Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Brecon Beacons Tourism looks forward to continuing constructive engagement with partners, businesses and elected representatives in support of a strong and sustainable visitor economy.
