Members and invited guests are warmly invited to Brecon Beacons Tourism’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 11 November 2025 at The Barn at Brynich, Brecon, as the Association looks ahead to its 20th anniversary year in 2026.
The theme — “Looking Ahead to 2026: Moving Forward Together” — reflects Brecon Beacons Tourism’s ongoing commitment to collaboration and community strength. With a Senedd election approaching and further sector changes expected, the focus will be on staying stronger together and continuing to represent, support, and celebrate the businesses that make tourism in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) thrive.
At 11am, the meeting will pause for a two-minute silence in recognition of Armistice Day.
The AGM will open with a short formal session to ratify Carl Shaw as Chair of Brecon Beacons Tourism, following his appointment earlier this year. Members will also receive updates on 2025 achievements, key projects, and the Association’s plans for its 20th anniversary.
Building on a strong reputation for a personal, hands-on approach, Brecon Beacons Tourism (BBT) continues to work closely with members, partners and communities — ensuring that local businesses are supported and represented in the conversations shaping the future of the visitor economy.
This year’s AGM welcomes a strong line-up of speakers and partners offering national and regional perspectives on the tourism sector:
Rowland Rees-Evans, Chair of the Wales Tourism Alliance, will share current insights from the national stage and highlight the importance of a united industry voice as we move towards 2026.
Mari Stevens, Founder of Anian (Destination Consultancy), will discuss her work supporting Powys with their cultural study and Monmouth & Merthyr Tydfil with their destination strategies — and explore how local collaboration can drive innovation and sustainable growth.
Gareth Jones, from the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority, will speak about the growing partnership between BBT and the Park, and how working together will deliver tangible benefits for businesses, visitors and the environment alike.
Chair Carl Shaw said:
“Our AGM is about moving forward together — keeping things simple, collaborative and focused on what matters most to our members. We’re proud to be an association that listens, supports and works alongside local businesses every day. As we approach our 20th anniversary, that spirit of working together will continue to define us.”
