Boating is back on Llangorse Lake as the 2026 season officially gets underway, with visitors invited to take to the water from Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April.
Set within Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, Llangorse Lake offers one of the most accessible and scenic water-based experiences in the region — making it a popular choice for families, couples and outdoor enthusiasts.
Boat hire will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm (last hire), with a range of options available to suit all ages and experience levels.
Visitors can choose from:
Whether you’re looking for a relaxed paddle, a family-friendly activity or a gentle way to explore the landscape, Llangorse Lake provides a calm and welcoming setting.
For the opening weekend, there’s no need to book in advance — visitors can simply turn up and get out on the water.
Boat hire will continue on weekends and throughout school holidays, with online booking expected to follow shortly.
Fishing boat hire is also available separately and runs seven days a week for those looking to spend more time on the lake.
As one of the largest natural lakes in South Wales, Llangorse is a key part of the visitor experience in Bannau Brycheiniog, offering a different perspective on the landscape and encouraging slower, more immersive exploration.
With the season now open, it’s a great time to plan a visit and make the most of longer days and spring weather.
