Artisan Events Wales Brings Three Winter Markets to Bannau Brycheiniog

By j.bell on 27/10/2025

This November, Artisan Events Wales is bringing a festive trio of indoor Christmas markets to Tretower, Abergavenny, and Brecon — each one filled with handmade crafts, local produce and unique gifts from some of Wales’s most talented makers.

Now in its 10th year of running events across the region, Artisan Events Wales continues to showcase the creativity, craftsmanship and community spirit that make local markets such a valued part of life in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons).

Tretower Court & Castle – Friday 15 & Saturday 16 November

The season begins in spectacular surroundings at Tretower Court and Castle, near Crickhowell, where the medieval Great Hall and courtyard will once again be transformed into a festive haven for visitors.

With thanks to Cadw, entrance to the site will be free across both days, allowing visitors to enjoy the market and explore one of the region’s most atmospheric heritage landmarks.

Over 45 artisan makers will be setting up stalls across the courtyard and both floors, offering everything from handmade art, crafts and jewellery to artisan food and drink. Street food, barista vans, hot chocolate and mulled wine will keep visitors warm throughout the day.

Abergavenny Market Hall – Sunday 23 November

Next up, the iconic Abergavenny Market Hall welcomes over 60 artisan traders for a bustling one-day winter market. Fully accessible and surrounded by town-centre parking, the hall will be filled with the scent of festive food, the sounds of local musicians and the colourful displays of makers from Wales and beyond.

With a café and street food vendors on-site, it’s the perfect place to spend a winter’s Sunday, browse for gifts, and enjoy the lively atmosphere of one of South Wales’s most vibrant market towns.

Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon – Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 November

Rounding off the month, the Winter Artisan Market at Theatr Brycheiniog returns by popular demand after last year’s success. Set across two floors overlooking the Brecon canal basin, this year’s event will feature nearly 30 handpicked makers alongside the theatre café and nearby canal-side eateries.

With lift access between levels and on-site parking, visitors can take their time exploring stalls filled with art, textiles, ceramics, and locally produced gifts — perfect for festive shopping.

Celebrating Handmade in Bannau Brycheiniog

A spokesperson for the events says

“It’s wonderful to see these events continue to grow, with visitors returning year after year. Our aim has always been to give makers a trusted, well-organised space to sell their work — and to offer visitors a memorable, community-led experience that celebrates Welsh creativity.”

Each event is expected to attract hundreds of visitors, with both locals and visitors travelling from further afield to experience these seasonal showcases.
