Brecon Mountain Railway is almost ready to steam into the festive season, with its much-loved Santa Special Trains returning from 29 November to 23 December 2025. With only days to go until opening weekend, the railway is gearing up for another magical year of Christmas journeys through the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog).

Families can expect a warm festive welcome, a nostalgic steam train trip, and of course a visit from Santa himself. The Santa Specials have become one of the region’s most popular Christmas traditions, offering a cosy, nostalgic experience for all ages.

Alongside the festive train rides, visitors can explore the railway’s Gift Shop, which is open to everyone — you don’t need to be travelling on the train to pop in. This year’s seasonal highlights include:

• Little Grandma’s Kitchen preserves and festive jars
• A wide selection of runny, set and infused honeys from Llangattock Honey
• A carefully curated range of local gifts and seasonal treats
