About:
Trans Wales Trails offers world-class horseback riding adventures through the rugged landscapes of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Based at Blaenau Bach, a beautifully restored 16th-century longhouse on a working farm, riders can choose from day rides, weekend breaks, and longer multi-day trail holidays—perfect for those confident at cantering across varying terrain

What they offer:

  • Day Rides: 1-day pub or picnic rides with lunch, suitable for competent riders – £135 per person

  • Weekends & Farm-Based Holidays (2–5 days): Guided riding from the farm, returning to Blaenau Bach each night with hearty home-cooked meals – from £560–595

  • Trail Riding Holidays (2–5 days): Multi-day adventures with luggage transfers, staying in inns or B&Bs along the route:

    • Hay & Beacons Triangles: 3-day routes around Black Mountains or Pen y Fan – £1,050

    • Ultimate Trans Wales Trail: 5-day trek crossing much of Wales – £2,295

  • Rides are led by experienced local guides on their home-bred Welsh Section D cobs—forward-going, well-trained and sure-footed

  • Small group sizes (typically 4–7 riders) ensure a personal riding experience

  • Accommodation at the 16th-century “Blaenau” features en-suite rooms, biomass heating and farm-fresh meals, including home-baked sourdough and garden produce

Why we love them:
Trans Wales Trails offers an unparalleled outdoor adventure blending skilled riding, local hospitality, and unforgettable landscapes. Whether you're enjoying pub lunch on a day ride or exploring mountain ridges over multiple days, every detail is handled with care—and the horses are truly part of the family
