BBT members are helping build a stronger Tour Wales platform

Brecon Beacons Tourism members are now onboarded onto Tour Wales, a new cooperative platform designed to help visitors discover and book Welsh tourism businesses directly.

This is an important next step for our members and for the wider tourism sector. We are now looking at how the platform works in practice, what it offers businesses and visitors, and how we can help make it as useful and effective as possible.

Tour Wales is intended to bring accommodation, activities, attractions and events together in one place, while keeping the relationship between the business and the guest at the centre.

For businesses, that means a platform focused on direct booking rather than sending visitors through a large corporate marketplace where individual businesses can be difficult to find. It also offers a growing range of tools, including ticketing, website widgets, mapping, community events and location-based hubs that help visitors explore what is available in a particular area.

The platform is being developed around cooperation. Every business that joins adds to the range of experiences available and makes the platform more useful for visitors. That is particularly important for a destination such as Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), where accommodation providers, attractions, activity businesses, food and drink producers, retailers and event organisers all contribute to the visitor experience.

Tour Wales also offers additional visibility through its partnership with Outdooractive, one of Europe’s largest outdoor platforms. Businesses joining Tour Wales can benefit from a free listing on Outdooractive, creating another way for visitors to discover what is available.

Our role at Brecon Beacons Tourism is to support our members as they get to know the platform, share practical feedback and help identify what will make it work well for businesses of different sizes and types.

We know that no new platform is perfect on day one. The value of being involved early is that businesses can help shape how it develops, ensuring that it reflects the needs of Welsh tourism businesses and the visitors they welcome.

Tour Wales is currently offering new subscribers 50% off until 31 October 2026, reducing the annual cost from £50 to £25. Businesses that are already, or can become, TXGB-connected may not have an onboarding fee and should contact Tour Wales directly for further information.
