Royal Welsh Show 2026: Just Nine Days to Go
The countdown is on to one of the biggest events in the agricultural calendar, as the Royal Welsh Show returns to Llanelwedd, near Builth Wells, from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 July 2026.
Taking place on the doorstep of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, the four-day celebration attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and showcases the very best of Welsh farming, food, countryside traditions and rural life.
Whether you are a regular visitor or planning your first trip, the Royal Welsh Show offers a packed programme of entertainment, competitions, demonstrations and family-friendly activities, making it one of the highlights of the Welsh summer.
Visitors can look forward to:
The Main Ring promises an exciting programme once again, including the spectacular Paul Hannam Quad Bike Stunt Show, thrilling flying displays from Hawkeye Falconry UK, the Royal Welsh debut of the Shetland Pony Grand National and a special performance from the Hawkstone Farmers’ Choir on the opening day.
This year’s Show is especially significant for our area, as Brecknock has been named the 2026 Royal Welsh Feature County.
Over the past year, volunteers across the county have worked tirelessly to raise funds and prepare for this honour, showcasing the communities, traditions and businesses that make this part of Wales so special.
It is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Brecknock on a national stage while welcoming visitors from across the UK and beyond to the heart of Mid Wales.
If you are travelling to the Show, why not turn your day into a longer break?
The Royal Welsh Show provides the perfect opportunity to explore everything Bannau Brycheiniog has to offer. Stay a little longer to discover welcoming market towns, scenic walking routes, independent shops, award-winning attractions and outstanding local food and drink.
Whether you are travelling through Brecon, Crickhowell, Hay-on-Wye, Talgarth or the western valleys, there is plenty to enjoy beyond the showground.
The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society operates free Park & Ride services on the main routes to the showground, helping visitors arrive safely and conveniently throughout the event.
With just nine days to go, now is the time to book your tickets and start planning your visit.
