Looking for a relaxed afternoon out in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park this June?
A visit to the Mountain Air Artists Exhibition at the International Welsh Rarebit Centre in Defynnog could be just the ticket.
Now open and running until 28 June, the exhibition brings together the work of seven talented artists, showcasing a colourful collection of landscapes, wildlife, flowers and nature-inspired artwork.
Visitors will discover work from:
The exhibition is already attracting attention for its variety of styles and subjects, offering visitors the chance to browse artwork inspired by the landscapes and wildlife that make Wales such a special place.
Hosted by our members at the International Welsh Rarebit Centre, this is more than simply a gallery visit.
Spend time exploring the artwork upstairs before heading downstairs to enjoy lunch, coffee and cake, or perhaps sample the Welsh rarebit that has helped make the centre a destination in its own right.
The combination of local art, good food and a warm welcome makes for a wonderfully relaxed stop while exploring the western side of the National Park.
Defynnog sits in a beautiful part of Bannau Brycheiniog, making the exhibition an ideal addition to a day out exploring the area.
Take a scenic drive through the Usk Valley, visit nearby villages, enjoy the surrounding countryside and discover a quieter side of the National Park away from some of the better-known hotspots.
Whether you’re an art lover, a supporter of local creatives, or simply looking for somewhere different to visit this month, the Mountain Air Artists Exhibition offers a great excuse to slow down and spend a few hours exploring.
