Meet Beacons Pottery: Creative Experiences Near Libanus in Bannau Brycheiniog

By j.bell on 01/06/2026

Brecon Beacons Tourism is delighted to welcome Beacons Pottery to the network.

Run by Jess Rayner, Beacons Pottery offers visitors the chance to discover handcrafted ceramics, learn new skills and enjoy creative experiences in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.

Based near Libanus, the pottery has quickly developed a reputation for producing distinctive ceramic pieces inspired by the colours, textures and landscapes of the area. Alongside creating and selling her own work, Jess runs pottery lessons, throwing experiences, workshops and courses for people looking to explore their creativity or try something new during a visit to the National Park.

More Than a Pottery Shop

For many visitors, Beacons Pottery offers something different from a traditional retail experience.

Guests can take part in hands-on workshops, learn the basics of working with clay and gain an insight into the process behind each finished piece. Whether you’re completely new to pottery or looking to develop existing skills, the studio provides a welcoming environment to learn from an experienced maker.

The pottery’s online Etsy shop also allows customers to continue supporting local craftsmanship long after their visit has ended, helping share a little of Bannau Brycheiniog with homes across the UK.

Meeting Visitors Across the Region

Over the coming months, visitors may also encounter Jess and Beacons Pottery at a variety of events across the region.

Her programme includes appearances at local craft fairs, community events and agricultural shows, helping bring locally made ceramics to new audiences while showcasing the creative talent found within Bannau Brycheiniog.

Upcoming activities include workshops, pottery experiences, open studio opportunities and appearances at events including Brecon Craft Fair, Brecon Show and the Royal Welsh Show.
