One of the most atmospheric venues of Brecon Jazz Festival 2026 returns this summer as The Muse unveils an exciting programme of live performances running throughout the festival weekend.

From late-night jazz and funk to gypsy swing, contemporary improvisation and soulful live vocals, The Muse Stage once again offers audiences the chance to experience live music up close in a creative and welcoming setting in the heart of Brecon.

Running from 6–9 August 2026 on Glamorgan Street, the venue will host a varied line-up of established performers, rising artists and inventive collaborations that reflect the broad spirit of Brecon Jazz Festival itself.

A Weekend of Live Music and Creative Energy

Following a sell-out appearance at last year’s festival, Dionne Bennett returns for a late-night Saturday performance bringing jazz, funk, blues and powerful vocals back to The Muse Stage. Known for her commanding stage presence and rich sound, Dionne’s performance is expected to be one of the highlights of the weekend.

Audiences can also enjoy performances from:

• Grounded Thread, blending contemporary jazz with live tap percussion and improvisation
• Fabulous Red Diesel Band, returning after a hugely successful 2024 appearance
• Hot Club Gallois with their energetic swing-era sound
• Jack Pearce Quintet, showcasing modern original jazz compositions
• Cable Street Rag Band bringing 1920s and 30s jazz, blues and swing to open the stage
• Jack Mac’s Funk Pack with high-energy New Orleans-inspired grooves

The programme also includes performances from Jane, Bella & Gareth, whose mix of blues, original songwriting and multi-instrumental talent continues to build audiences across Wales and beyond.
