An evening of poetry, conversation and atmosphere comes to Talgarth Mill this May as award-winning poets Natalie Holborow and Menna Elfyn visit the historic mill for a special live reading event in the heart of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
Hosted at the beautifully restored working mill in Talgarth, the evening combines contemporary Welsh poetry with local food and drink from Triggs at the Mill, creating an intimate cultural event within one of the area’s most characterful heritage spaces.
Guests can arrive from 6pm to enjoy tapas and drinks before readings begin at 7pm. The event marks the fourth poetry evening hosted at Talgarth Mill and continues the venue’s growing reputation for arts, culture and community gatherings within the Black Mountains region.
Shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year, Natalie Holborow is known for vivid, emotional writing exploring identity, landscape and belonging, while Menna Elfyn remains one of Wales’ most respected bilingual poets and literary voices.
For visitors exploring Hay-on-Wye, Talgarth and the wider Brecon Beacons during late spring, the evening offers a chance to experience live literature, independent food and local culture in a unique historic setting.
