Talgarth Walking Festival returns over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, offering a welcoming programme of guided walks in and around Talgarth and the Black Mountains.
Taking place from Friday 1 to Monday 4 May 2026, the festival is designed for walkers of all abilities, combining classic Black Mountains routes with gentler local walks that explore the landscape, history and character of this corner of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
What to expect
Talgarth’s location at the foot of the Black Mountains makes it an ideal base, with direct access to open moorland, ridges, valleys and historic routes.
Talgarth is a compact, walkable town with cafés, pubs, independent shops and easy access to some of the finest walking terrain in southern Wales. Many visitors combine the festival with a short break, using the weekend to explore more of the surrounding National Park.
