1-4th-Crickhowell Walking Festival

Crickhowell Walking Festival is still taking place in March, the festival is a well-established feature on the local calendar. It attracts walkers from all over the country, as well as locals keen to embrace the great scenery that we have on offer. For those that do not want to walk and for walkers who want something to do in the evening, there is an extensive programme of events, including talks and concerts as well as opportunities to improve your outdoor skills and much more. 1-11th-Brecon Women's Festival

This year’s Women’s Festival Exhibition celebrates the theme of Suffrage or Freedom and features over twenty five women artists who call Brecon their home. The exhibition opening marks the launch of this year’s festival, and we are thrilled that this year the honours will be undertaken by Fiona Williams, Clerk to Brecon Town Council. The exhibition runs until the end of March.

This year’s launch will take place at The Hours Cafe, Bookshop & Deli on Ship Street at 7pm on Thursday March 1st with the opening of the Festival Art Exhibition featuring the work of over 25 amazing Women artists. More here.

16th-Stargazing night at the Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre

Dark Sky Wales with their mobile planetarium will take you on a virtual tour of the heavens, and hopefully the skies will be crisp and clear so Allan Trow and Martin Griffiths can also use the telescopes and binoculars to guide you around the heavens.

There will also be a facinating talk from Martin Griffiths, the lead presenter for Dark Sky Wales. This wonderful time of year will also allow those participating to see the wonders of the late winter sky. If the weather is against us, this event will still go ahead with the presentation and mobile planatarium.

Tickets are £15 which includes coffee and cake to get your evening off to a great start. This event starts at 7.00pm. Please come dressed in warm clothing.

10th-Gunpowder Works Volunteer Open Day

at Village Hall, Pontneddfechan on Saturday 10^th March from 11am – 3pm

Volunteers needed for various projects focusing on ecology, history, building conservation or even becoming a member of our volunteer warden team. Full training provided, all welcome, come along to learn more about how to get involved. More here.
